The Keyword setting for the account is a special setting used for Mobile Opt-In for alerts. Mobile Opt-In allows subscribers to sign up via text message.
This is a special keyword which allows the subscriber to sign up to the account without being assigned to any groups.
Therefore, this setting is designed for use when not using any groups at all. If the desired result is to use Omnilert without any grouping at all and have subscribers sign up by just texting a keyword to 79516, an Account keyword is the way to go.
All keywords must be unique strings of 5 or more characters, numbers and letters only. Omnilert will automatically reject keywords that are already in use.
Choose keywords carefully. Make sure they are not only unique, but something specific to your Omnilert, such as your organization's name or branding. We do not recommend using common dictionary words, such as "Emergency" or "Alerts", as you will likely attact accidental subscribers!
Tip: If your Omnilert account does use Groups, we recommend setting a "Group Keyword" instead, as those keywords both sign up the number for "All Subscribers" and assign it to a group, too.
