When sending alerts to the Omnilert App endpoint, Omnilert can collect responses from subscribers via the app.
First, select the Omnilert App endpoint for your alert.
Tip: Get the most out of responses by using Omnilert Engage to view response data and send follow-ups to recipient groups.
Create engagement
When the Omnilert App endpoint is chosen, you will see a prompt below the message composition box called "Step 4: Create engagement". (You will need to scroll down to see this new section*.)
This is typically a question or a prompt that you'll be asking your recipients, such as "Do you require help?" or "Choose your available shift".
If you don't enter text into the "Question" field, there will be no prompt for end-users to respond via the app.
Then enter the response options that you'd like to present. You can include up to five different responses for subscribers to choose from. (e.g. "Yes", "No", "I don't know", etc.)
Note: This question and response option is only sent to mobile app recipients (iOS or Android). This content will not be sent to SMS, Email, Voice, or any other endpoint.
The recipients will be prompted to respond if/when they view the message on their mobile device within the app.
Those responses are then visible in message details on the Timeline.
Including the Omnilert Instant App
One of the key features included with the Omnilert App is the automatic availability of the Omnilert Instant App.
The "instant app" is a browser-based version of the Omnilert App that is sent to subscribers via SMS/Email automatically if these endpoints are used along with the app.
So, just be sure to target SMS and/or Email with these app alerts. Any subscriber who has registered for SMS and Email alerts but just never bothered to install the app on their phones will not be left out of the mix. They will receive a link to their individual "instant app", where they can answer the call to action right from their web browser.
*Note: Adding questions to your Omnilert Mobile App messages requires the Omnilert "Engage" or "Manage" platform tier. This section may not appear if your platform does not include this feature.
