Cancelling feed items on RSS, CAP Feeds, and Web Widgets

Feed items will remain published until their expiration time passes for certain feed-based endpoints, such as RSS, CAP Feeds, and Web Widgets. At that time, they will be marked for automatic removal from the feed.

Note: Omnilert will check to clear out expired items about every 15 minutes, so feed items may stay posted for a short time after the expiration passes but will be removed automatically.

To force Omnilert to remove a feed item immediately from an RSS or Web Widget feed, there is a "Cancel Feed" option within the details for the message on the Timeline. 

How to cancel a feed item in Omnilert

Go to the Timeline and click on the message you'd like to cancel from your various feeds...

Then click on Cancel Feed for any feeds you'd like to cancel immediately.

Then click OK to confirm the cancellation of this feed item...

The item will be removed immediately from the RSS or Widget's feed. You'll note that its status appears as "Cancelled"

Note: Once a feed item has expired, it can't be canceled.  It will be removed when Omnilert next clears any/all expired feeds. Expired items are cleared every 15 minutes of the hour.
