If using the FTP Import option to upload/synchronize subscriber data in Omnilert, the Tools >> FTP Import Logs will show a history of recent FTP activity. (The FTP logs show transactions going back up to 30 days from the current date.)
This can be useful in troubleshooting uploads into your Omnlert system.
The FTP Import Logs will display a chronological list of recent FTP attempts. Click on any entry in the log to view the details of that FTP attempt.
Clicking on a log entry will bring up details for that transaction, showing which CSV files were retrieved (if any were found).
If a CSV file was retrieved, you should see its filename listed within the log entry.
A successful transfer will indicate "success" for that filename.
Troubleshooting FTP Transfers
No FTP log entries in the log?
If no entries exist in your FTP log, check that your FTP configuration is completed and enabled in the Settings >> FTP Import section of your admin portal.
FTP Log Entries are empty/missing info?
If the log entry exists, but is empty and does not show any attempt to retrieve a file, this indicates that Omnilert was unable to connect to the FTP server. (Check your configuration and/or firewall setup.)
FTP connects, but no CSV files are found?
If the log shows that the directory was scanned, but no CSV files were found, check that the files are CSV format (Windows Comma Delimited Text .CSV) and that they were placed in the correct folder on your FTP server.
Also, be sure to check that the FTP user has appropriate permissions to view/edit the CSV files on that server.
CSV Files were retrieved, but no new data was imported?
Check that your CSV files are in the proper directory.
If using a custom, "mapped" CSV file, check that the CSV file has the correct, assigned filename. The "Mapping and Comparing" files are CSV files pulled from the "Map Compare Files Directory". (Only use a mapped directory if your installation has a customized upload process.)
