The Tools >> Send Test utility can be used to send a test email, text, or voice call. The system will display real-time results reported for the test message.
This is often helpful in troubleshooting delivery issues for a subscriber who isn't able to receive alerts.
The system will allow up to 3 tests per hour to a given number.*
Omnilert will then display the various status receipts for the text.
A typical "success" response should indicate "Accepted by carrier" or "Delivered to handset". This kind of response shows the text went through (according to the subscriber's provider.)
If you see an error message (e.g. "Invalid service type", "Carrier rejected", "Carrier not found", etc.), this would indicate a problem. Either you've got the wrong number or the subscriber's phone is blocked by their carrier.
* A 3 test per hour limit is in place to prevent accidentally "spamming" a wrong number or email with repeated test messages.
