When first installed, you'll need to configure the admin side of your Omnilert App. Configure your organization's Omnilert Mobile App endpoint on the Endpoints >> Inactive screen.
Tip: If you have a lot of endpoints in your system, you can always search the endpoints list using the search tool at the top of the page. Just type the first few letters of the endpoint's name and then search!
The Configuration tab is used to set the default configuration options for this app.
The Configuration settings include the following options:
The Organization logo image will be seen when your subscribers open the app.
The image should be in gif, jpeg, or png format and no larger than 1000px width x 1000px height.
- File type: png, jpg/jpeg, gif
- Max Dimensions (in pixels): 1000w x 1000h
We recommend using a PNG format image with a transparent background for the most professional look. For best results, use a banner-style, horizontal logo.
Upload your logo with the Upload logo button. When you save the configuration, your subscribers will see the new logo when their app launches.
The "avatar" is an additional image setting ideal for branding purposes.
This is the 150x150 thumbnail image your subscribers will see next to your outgoing alerts. As with the header image, the optional avatar image adds to the experience for your subscribers by visually indicating the sender of the alert they've received.
This image is also pulled into the app and displayed next to future messages. (Changing the avatar will also change the avatar for any previously delivered alerts. )

Note that the system will mask the avatar image to a circular image on phone displays, so a full logo or "profile pic" style image often looks best, whenever possible.
Looking for an avatar image for your app? Check with your social media team. For example, your organization's Twitter avatar will often work quite well for this purpose. Alternatively, any avatar used on avatars.io will display nicely.
Default message (Required)
This is a required setting. It must be configured before your subscribers attempt to set up their devices as it's what they will see first. (The Omnilert Mobile App endpoint will display with a red status until this setting is saved.)
The default message is the initial "welcome" that an app subscriber sees when they first open the app. It's intended to let the subscriber know where to go to read alerts if/when they are received.
The default message should be short and informative. (It can even include emoji and/or links if so desired.)
In the app, the default message appears as shown below:
Panic button (optional)
An optional "PRESS AND HOLD FOR HELP" button can be enabled within the app. (As of June 2021, this feature's setup has moved to its own tab. See Panic Button)
When enabled, a red bar displays at the top of all of the app's screens.
If pressed, this will prompt the subscriber's mobile phone to dial the number of your choosing. This function enables subscribers to quickly dial a safety office, switchboard, or local emergency services directly.
- Enable emergency button: This option will cause a button to display within the app at the top of each screen.
- Emergency button title: Sets the text label shown within the app.
- Emergency button number to dial: Sets the phone number to be dialed should a subscriber press the button.
- Include 911: This optional box will enable a secondary option for the end-user to dial 911 from within the Omnilert app (using their mobile device's phone connection.) If enabled, the "include 911" option allows the end-user to choose whether to dial your pre-set emergency number or 911.
In the app, the emergency button appears as shown below:
(Note: Please check with your local resources before inserting their telephone phone number into this setting.)
If disabled no emergency call banner is displayed within the app.
Show/Hide the Omnilert Mobile App Endpoint in the Subscriber Portal
By default, subscribers will be able to view their Personal Access Code within their Subscriber Portal.
To remove the Mobile App section from the Subscriber Portal, simply un-check the Enable users to see their Personal Access Code in the Subscriber Portal* box on the Configuration screen. (shown below)
