Groups: Group keyword

Each group on Omnilert can have its own optional "keyword".

Group keywords are used for mobile opt-in, where subscribers sign up by just texting your chosen keyword to 79516.

When using a group keyword, the number is subscribed to your Omnilert account (part of "all subscribers") and also subscribed to the group corresponding to the keyword.

Your group keyword must be unique across all of Omnilert so that the system can properly route texts to your account.

The system will indicate if your chosen keyword is taken and prompt you to choose another if needed.

Ideas for good keywords

Choosing a keyword is an important decision. If you're going to post it on flyers, in your newsletter, etc., you want it to be memorable, easy, and effective.

A good keyword is:

• Unique to your organization.
• Never a common dictionary word or you will get accidental subscribers.
• Easy to remember
• Between 5 and 10 characters in length.
