The Omnilert Desktop Alert (ODA) client app is available for Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OSX environments. (Linux is not supported.)
The ODA client app does not require any special hardware and has a very small RAM footprint (about 7MB) and uses very little bandwidth, pulling about 700 bytes of data for each check-in to Omnilert's servers.
The following Operating System versions are supported:
The MS Windows:
- Windows 7 (or later)
The Mac OSX:
- 10.8 - Mountain Lion
- 10.9 - Mavericks
- 10.10 - Yosemite
The client PCs must be able to connect to the Internet on ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) to receive alerts. Proxy connections are not supported. (Use behind a proxy may or may not work properly due to caching on the proxy server.)
Please Note: This article applies only to Omnilert Desktop Alert (ODA), the client application to receive desktop alerts on a PC or Mac. The administrative console of Omnilert is 100% web-based and thus only requires an up-to-date web browser.
