Omnilert Desktop Alert (ODA) is a desktop notification option native to the Omnilert network.
As an optional feature, Omnilert alerts can be delivered directly to any PC or Mac desktops that have the Omnilert Desktop Alert client app installed.
The app itself is a very small client that runs in the system tray on windows.
The app runs in the "Menu Bar" on MacOS
Messages can display on client PCs (and Macs) in three possible ways:
- As a full-screen message
- As a "ticker" along the bottom of the screen
- As a pop-up window by the clock on the task/menu bar

Some Benefits of Omnilert Desktop Alert (ODA)
No need for a server...
The Omnilert Desktop Alert (ODA) client app communicates directly with Omnilert to retrieve alerts, polling as often as every 30 seconds for timely messaging without the need to run a local server just to host desktop notifications.
Since ODA communicates directly with Omnilert, it not only displays alerts, but also reports which PCs/Macs are displaying the message, which didn't, and (optionally) who clicked to acknowledge/cancel the message.
Lightweight client app...
The Omnilert Desktop Alert (ODA) app uses very little system resources and won't bog down PCs. Since ODA is text-only, there's very little bandwidth used to deliver alerts.
